Here in 10 More Song we try to come up with ten songs that exemplify the Nerd Lifestyle. These songs come from musicians from all walks of life, some professional, some highly talented amateurs. Then there are the Bronie Musicians. These are men and women, outside the normal demographic of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, who have taken to showing their love of the show through song. Below are my picks for the top 10 songs by and for Bronies. (Full Disclosure Statement: This reviewer suffers from Bronyism, and does his very best to spread it to everyone he contacts.)
#10-2
A note on the ratings. Really there is only one rated song on this list. The rest are a close second.
Loyalty by AcousticBrony & MandoPony
Two heavyweights of the MLP music world team up to bring us this rocking anthem to one of the fundamentals of friendship: loyalty.
Stuck in Time by The Living Tombstone & Bronyfied
Another bronie team-up (these happen QUITE often) features a song based around the life of one of the most revered fan creations, a time-traveling pony going by the name of Doctor Whooves.
For The New Lunar Republic by IAmNotACleverPony
This talented bronie with a very misleading name brings us an anthem for those wanting to overthrow their Celestian tyranny. So for all you Luna supporters out there, here is a song for you!
Filly Cannon by Twenty Ten
Twenty Ten has taken two bronie tracks, Filly of a Filly by I Bring Da LULZ and Party Cannon by The Living Tombstone (there HE is again) and mashed them up into one boomtastic song.
20 Percent Cooler by Ken Ashcorp and DJ Alex S
DJ Alex S took this nifty little tune from fellow bronie Ken Ashcorp and made it into an unforgettable club mix. Honestly, if you can’t get your flank shaking to this, you have no soul.
Hay There, Ms Derpy by Forest Rain
Forest Rain performs this tribute to one of favorite ponies of the fan world, Derpy Hooves. Her story is long, interesting, and sometimes sad, but the fan’s love shines through in this piece.
Between Fairytales and Happy Endings by PrinceWhateverer (ft. Liquid Cobalt and ISMBOFepicly)
PrinceWhateverer has crafted this ballad from the point of view of the aforementioned, dearly loved, but much maligned (by a small, but VERY vocal group of “fans”) Derpy Hooves.
Discord (The Living Tombstone Remix) by Eurobeat Brony
This tribute to the Q-Like villain of Equestria, Discord (who has “the head of a pony and a body of all sorts of other things.”), has a catchy tune, and a fun video to go with it.
Join the Herd by Forest Rain
Still with us? Haven’t left yet? There are only two things to do now, and the first is exemplified by this song for prospective fans to My Little Pony everywhere.
#1 The Massive Smile Project by Bronie Artists for Good
So now that you are part of the herd, the last thing you need to do is SMILE! This cover of Pinkie Pie’s signature song has been lovingly covered by some of the biggest names in the MLP music scene. Featuring Cyril the Wolf, Decibelle, F3nning, Forest Rain, Glaze, Jenny Nicholson, Kryptage, The Living Tombstone, Mic the Microphone, Osoth, Spectracle, Ashfire, Equestria Dude, Poni1Kenobi and produced by Forest Rain, the group comes together USA for Africa style for this amazing track supporting Seeds Of Kindness.
Did we leave your favorite pony track out of the mix? Well make sure to share it in the comments below! Also, unless I get some really good suggestions this will be the last themed “10 more songs” for a little while. So if you have suggestions for themes, let me know down below as well. Until next week, smile bronies!
About Mark Driscoll
When not ranting about the current state of his favorite comics or working on L33t, Mark spends a majority of his time renovating his newly purchased, 120 year old Victorian house. Badly. He is very bad at talking about himself in the third person, as he thinks it make him sound pretentious.
