Don’t bother denying it…I know you’ve done it.
All fans have done it!
All fans engage in this debate at one point or another. It’s the kind of debate that asks Who’s the superior captain…Kirk or Picard? Which is better…Star Wars or Star Trek? Who is truly the fastest…Superman or the Flash?
Why just today, those of us here at Word of the Nerd debated on who would win in a brawl…Batwoman or Batgirl.
But those examples are not the topics at hand here, now are they?
Due to come out this April in both comic book stores and on the Marvel Comics App, New Avengers #25 may at last lay to rest the question that has baffled Avengers fans and X-men fans alike…
Which team will win in an all-out brawl? The one filled with humans that have evolved faster than others, or the one composed of a genetically enhanced super-soldier, an engineering genius, and a god?
All you fans better start taking bets, because considering only one team will be the victor (I’m about to have a fangirl moment here, but I don’t care…I’m going to say it anyway…”THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!”) the stakes will be high!
Just don’t go betting your rent money, okay? The stakes aren’t that high.
Is taking bets among your friends while continuing the debate until the comic book’s release not good enough for you? Do you fancy taking the debate to a more global arena and proving your argument to those outside your comfort zone?

I’m wondering if Avengers vs. X-Men’s storyline will be on where there’s a clear winner, or if it will be one where the heroes fight for a while before they team up, or something ELSE happens.
Marvel could be daring, though, and make it an actual winner / loser struggle that causes a long-lasting rift between the two teams forever. It would be a great way, actually, to reposition the X-Men as Marvel’s chief underdogs, by being enemies of the world’s #1 alpha superteam.
I’m wondering if this will ACTUALLY be a super smackdown, or if it will like, some thing where they fight and then team up to defeat the Phoenix or something.
*shrugs* I dunno…they’re playing it pretty close to the chest, so it’s anyone’s guess at this point, lol
