Warner Brothers has once again stepped up to provide some compassion for the people affected by the shootings in Aurora, Colorado.
A new Batman show, Beware the Batman, scheduled to air next year on Cartoon Network, is getting itself a little re-do; all of the guns on the show, which were originally portrayed as more realistic, are going to be toned-down to a more cartoon-esque shape and look. The guns will looks less like guns used in the real world, and have more of a sci-fi feel to them.
The decision was made by series executive producer, Sam Register.
While I do think the decisions and changes being made to Batman after this incident are considerate, I wonder how long this is going to go on? It’s virtually impossible to remove violence from comics; it’s the main point of many stories. I am curious to see what happens in the future, and if any other comics or franchise take any kind of steps in a more non-violent or toned-down direction.
