Arrow, the television show based on the Green Arrow character from DC comics, is set to air on October 10 at 8 EDT/7 CDT. So far there have been many news releases on which characters from the DC Universe will be making an appearance in the show. Screenrant.com put together a very thorough slideshow explaining each character in depth. Here is a summary of the characters confirmed:
Played by: Emily Bett Rickards
In the DC universe, Felicity Smoak had a run-in with Firestorm, and eventually became his stepmother. She is a a business manager of a computer software firm, and it appears she will be reprising that role in the show minus the Firestorm.
Played by: Colin Salmon
Walter Steele is becomes the CEO of Queen Industries when Oliver Queen goes missing. It the show, he will also be the husband of Moira Queen.
Played by: Colin Donnell
Merlyn is an assassin who sells his services to the highest bidder. He is an expert with the bow and arrow, and Oliver Queen finds himself pitted against him early in his career as the Green Arrow.
Played by: Kelly Hu
China White is the leader of a heroine cartel in the DC Universe. Along with one of Oliver’s allies, she attempts to extort some of his fortune.
Played by: Darren Shahlavi
Another expert assassin who sells his services. He is a master at his particular art of killing. At one point during his appearances in the DC universe, Constantine and Deathstroke team up against the Green Arrow family, and they attempts to eliminate them are nearly successful before the Justice League shows up to save the day.
Played by: Michael Rowe
One of the deadliest assassins in the world. He is known for never missing his shot. Deadshot has generally been a minor antagonist the Batman universe and has been a member of the Suicide Squad. All I can say is Arrow will have his work cut out for him with all of these elite assassins running about.
Played by: Katie Cassidy
In the DC universe, Dinah Laurel Lance becomes the second Black Canary assuming the role originally held by her mother. She trained to be an expert in martial arts. In her fight against crime she becomes romantically involved with Green Arrow. They even share a wedding which is crashed by Deathstroke and other super villains.
Played by: Jessica De Gouw
In Arrow, it appears her character will draw on the Helena Bertinelli version. Helena Bertinelli was born into on of the largest mafia families in Gotham City. She becomes a ruthless vigilante after the murder of her family and eventually comes to be a part of the Bat Family. She is an expert in hand-to-hand combat and with many forms of weaponry.

Deathstroke, alias Slade Wilson, is a master tactician and strategist. His origins in the DC universe have him being genetically enhanced to be the perfect soldier. He is a constant nemesis to the Justice League and Teen Titans, and here we’ll see him on the small screen. Played by whom I wonder…

Speedy, alias Roy Harper, is a sidekick to the Green Arrow. At one point in the DC universe, Green Arrow and Speedy’s relationship becomes soured when Speedy becomes addicted to heroine. I wonder if that might play out on the television screen..
John Barrowman as ….?
John Barrowman has been cast, but as of right now the title of his role is that of a “the well-dressed man”. Could it be that he will be Slade Wilson? Or is he possibly another character entirely?
