London Film and Comic Con gave fans a big treat yesterday, especially during the Dredd panel. Fans were treated to a full scene that was not included in the leaked script. This was added during the re-shoots and apparently includes some pretty cool things the lawmaker gun can do.
As well as this scene, during the Q&A after, fans were told that Dredd could easily become a trilogy and what would happen in the subsequent films.
The films screenwriter, Alex Garland, told the crowd that the first film, Dredd, would only need to make $50 in the US to set a sequence in motion – not that much in box office terms whatsoever.
This sequel would take the world’s most famous judge down the Cursed Earth storyline. If a third film then came, the Dark Judges would then be introduced to finish the trilogy off.
Early concepts for the film suggest that Judge Death was going to be introduced straight away but that was soon scrapped through fear of over complicating.
It’s good to have a long term plan but this could always change. There’s no telling if Garland would even get to write the sequels anyway.
Dredd opens two weeks earlier in the UK to the US on 7th September.

Liam, did you catch the clip in person yourself? If so, let rip with the details!
No, I didn’t go I’m afraid.
