G.I. Joe: Retaliation Super Bowl Trailer

When I first heard back several months ago that there would be a G.I. Joe sequel and most of the original cast was not returning, I was somewhat skeptical.  I loved the first G.I. Joe movie and I was disappointed only a select few were returning.  Then I heard that Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) would be in the film as Roadblock and I started getting nervous.  Further casting news revealed Bruce Willis had signed on and then I honestly didn’t know what to think.  Then I saw the first trailer and it looked pretty cool but I hadn’t seen anything to distinguish it from the first movie.  Now comes this Super Bowl spot and I have to say that I am growing optimistic that this might be an okay film after all.  What changed my mind you ask?  Cobra Commander.  There is just a brief glimpse of him in this roughly 30 second spot…it it REALLY IS Cobra Commander, the way he is meant to look.  Not that abomination of a Cobra Commander (completely mishandled and overacted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt).  I don’t know what the hell they were thinking but that guy was no Cobra Commander.
