Apart from one battle 2 weeks after the war officially ended, the United States does not talk about the War of 1812 at all. We lost the war and no amount of spin can change that To Canada, the War of 1812 is something of a big deal. A lot of heroes, legends and tales came from that conflict, of which Loxley Farm is one.
For this project, Renegade Arts Entertainment sought out some of the best talent in the comic book industry. Alan Grant, a long time writer for Judge Dred, wrote the Graphic novel. Artists duties are shared by both Claude St. Aubin and Lovern Kindzierski. In addition to the Graphic Novel, Renegade Arts Entertainment also hired Tab Murphy, an Academy Award nominated writer, to pen both a screenplay and a children’s play.
If you live on the East Coast, especially New York, you can get the graphic novel this week. The rest of country will take longer. If you are interested in North American history in general, or are a proud Canadian, pick up the Loxleys and the War of 1812. If you want to read more, please visit the 1812 timeline.
About Joseph Furguson
This child of the 80s does not look upon it as some gold age where everything is better. He is well aware that the filter of time causes the best stuff to rise to the top. Every era has terrible and awesome things, but most are downright mediocre. He loves to highlight the forgotten good and the deserving bad items of all generations.
