Hasbro Switching Gears With Transformers 4

Brain Goldner, President and CEO of Hasbro, has announced a shift in focus for the fourth coming film in the Transformers film series. Hasbro, being primarily a company driven by toy sales, has seen the current films as having an insufficient amount of toy sales associated with them. Thus, they have decided to introduce an all new cast of robots in the fourth film.

Michael Bay says this will be his final time directing a Transformer’s film. The Transformers 4 screenplay is being written by Ehren Kruger who also had writing duties on the second and third film in the series.

How do you feel about the switch in the robotic cast? Personally, I haven’t been overwhelmingly motivated to follow the films after the first, and with this announcement I will probably not be following the future of the series either. It saddens me to have a change like this come up for the sole reason of toy sales, and that any money the film could have made is not enough for Hasbro. What does Hasbro’s push for increased toy sales have you feeling inside? Let us know in the comments below.
