MacGyver Returns in Fugitive Gauntlet

The famous observation about Angus MacGyver goes along the lines of, “Give him chewing gum and paper clips and he can build you a house in three days.”

While the real character cannot do that, he is known for doing some outlandish things during the seven seasons MacGyver was on the air. Through practical applications of scientific principles, a bit of tinkering, and a lot of luck, MacGyver became known for getting out of problems using common items that could be found anywhere.

For the first time in 20 years, MacGyver has a brand new story to delight and amaze them. Image Comics brings you Fugitive Gauntlet, the first original MacGyver story in 20 years. This story, co-written by comic book veteran Tony Lee and series creator Lee David Zlatoff, casts Mac in an unfamiliar role.

Taking a cue from movies like the Fugitive, Most Wanted, and U.S. Marshals, Mac is now a wanted fugitive. Caught in a tangled web of industrial espionage and murder, the secret agent must clear his name as quickly as possible. He must travel the world looking for evidence, deciphering clues, and avoiding the myriad of people who want to arrest him. A million dollar bounty on your head tends to make you very popular, as MacGyver will find out on October 10, 2012.

MACGYVER: FUGITIVE GAUNTLET #1 (AUG120462) will be in stores on October 10 and is available for pre-order now. Co-writer Tony Lee talked to Comic Book Resources about the mini-series in an interview posted in July.

About Joseph Furguson

This child of the 80s does not look upon it as some gold age where everything is better. He is well aware that the filter of time causes the best stuff to rise to the top. Every era has terrible and awesome things, but most are downright mediocre. He loves to highlight the forgotten good and the deserving bad items of all generations.
