Although a founding member of the Avengers, Ant-Man is quickly forgotten in favor of the more iconic characters. Considered something of a joke hero, there have been three people who used the Ant-Man persona over the years. Doctor Henry Pym used the persona until his mind unhinged and he adopted the Yellowjacket persona instead. Scott Lang adopted it in the 70s and kept it until his death by the Scarlet Witch. Now, the persona belongs to Eric O’Grady, who stole the suit from SHIELD for his own selfish needs.
To find out that he’s starting the Marvel NOW relaunch is a surprise. Given his rather neglected history, there is very little reason to love Ant-Man. But the upcoming movie might be enough of a reason to make people care about him once again.
More than likely, this Ant-Man is Scott Lang. In a comic book, death is meaningless and Scott returned from it recently. Now he is a member of the Future Foundation. What changes made to his character after Marvel NOW are unknown, but it will lead to interesting stories nonetheless.

About Joseph Furguson
This child of the 80s does not look upon it as some gold age where everything is better. He is well aware that the filter of time causes the best stuff to rise to the top. Every era has terrible and awesome things, but most are downright mediocre. He loves to highlight the forgotten good and the deserving bad items of all generations.
