You guys. You guys, I am so crazy excited for this game, you have no idea.
For those not in the know, Dishonored is the upcoming action game from Bethesda. If Assassin’s Creed and BioShock had a steampunk baby, it would be Dishonored. The first cinematic trailer for the game came out a few months back, and it quickly caught the gaming world’s attention, generating a ton of buzz.
You play as Corvo Attano, a former bodyguard to the Empress, and after being framed for her murder, you decide to take revenge on those responsible in a number of graphic ways. In the spirit of other Bethesda titles, Dishonored will be open-world, set in the plague-ridden city of Dunwall. There are a huge number of supernatural abilities available to you, and you can use them in a wide variety of ways.
The new trailer shows us only three.
The Long Jump makes use of the Blink ability, a teleportation technique that allows you to cross long distances in a very short amount of time.
The Sleep Tight options depicts Bend Time. This move freezes time, letting you stop bullets in mid-air, unleash a few crossbow bolts, then make a hasty retreat before the effect wears off.
Finally, Chain Possession shows off the Possession ability. It’s exactly as it sounds: you jump into the minds of NPC’s (including animals!) and control their bodies.
Dishonored releases on October 9th in the US and October 12th in Europe.
