Nothing is more terrifying to a parent than having your child taken from you. It becomes worse when the kidnapper only wants to torment you. In Chasing the Dead, Sue is thrown into that situation when her daughter is taken from her. To get her back, Sue must follow the kidnapper’s mysterious and cryptic instructions. On the longest night of the year, she is led down a familiar road, at the end of which is a long-buried secret.
Chasing the Dead is an adaptation of a novel by Joe Schreiber, the author of Red Harvest and Death Troopers. Comic book writers Matthew Scott and Tim Westland were impressed by Schreiber.
“I was immediately struck by Schreiber’s ability to create amazing suspenseful situations that contained subtle elements of horror lurking in the corners. This is a zombie road trip done in a whole new way with a unique supernatural mythology and a fun twist at the end,” says Scott. “As soon as I finished the book, I knew we had to bring this to graphic novel.”
