The one-shot spin-off of Eisner Award winning CHEW, Secret Agent Poyo, is getting a 2nd printing from Image Comics. The press release below says it features 22 pages of story and ten pin-ups by such independent artists as Jim Mahfood, Nick Pitarra, and Ben Templesmith.
Secret Agent Poyo was a hit at comic-con and the comic shops. When I finally was able to get in to get my copy they were gone and the clerk lamented how hard it was to get the copies in.
Secret Agent Poyo was a riotous good time and I just can’t say enough how much joy reading John Layman and Rob Guillory’s work brings me. It’s just one of the freshest and most original story lines and visuals I’ve seen in years.
I think it is almost worthy of the “rather epic quote,” as Guillory referred to it, by Layman, “Secret Agent Poyo is the most important thing to happen to comics in the last three hundred and fifty years, and it’s clear that the public recognizes it for the towering literary achievement that it is.”

The Comic-Con International Exclusive foil-stamped cover edition of the one-shot about the fan-favorite rooster was one of the stars of Image Comics exclusive offerings at Comic-Con International in San Diego. That convention exclusive was limited to 750 copies and will not be reprinted.
The second printing of CHEW: SECRET AGENT POYO will be in stores on August 29 and is available now for pre-order with the Diamond code JUN128113.
