Everyone loves a good comic book movie, right?
Everyone would love to see more of them, right?
Well, the two major studios, DC and Marvel, tend to stick to their A-team where movies are concerned, as they are the ones guaranteed to make the money. But, I can’t be the only one that would love to see some secondary/side characters get a movie outing and that got me to thinking. When I’m rich and famous, who am I going to cast as some of my favourite heroes for their very own movie outing?
So, have a look at what I came up with and see what you think.
Marvel
X-23 – For the lovely, ex-prostitute clone of Wolverine I have ex-lover of a young Superman, Kristin Kreuk. I love X-23 and a movie of her solo comics would be awesome.
Luke Cage – For the hero for hire I put forward 2 Fast 2 Furious star Tyrese Gibson. Cage is a cool character and would make for an interesting lead.
Miss Marvel – For Marvels leading lady, I think Amber Heard would do more than suit the roll. She is smoking hot and can easily give the attitude and leadership of the character.
Captain Britain – Captain America gets a film so why not us? This dude needed to be British and I think the I Am Number Four star, Alex Pettyfer, would suit the role nicely.
Wasp – Now, she’s probably going to appear in the upcoming Ant-Man movie, but I’m getting in first with Olga Kurylenko, ex James Bond star.
Moon Knight – Johnny Depp would be great as the hero who encompasses all of the best Avengers in one messed up head. You could do some cool stuff with a Moon Knight movie and Depp does weird very well!
DC
The DC universe is a bit more challenging. Everyone wants a JLA movie and I think some of the others I’ve chosen could be in the works or planned for the future, but here we go.
Wonder Women – There may be a bit of an age difference, but I think you can forgive me for that, seeing as it’s Sandra Bullock that I have for DCs leading lady.
Flash – I think that Dexter front man Michael C. Hall would be an excellent candidate for the fastest man alive. He’s an excellent actor and he would certainly be able to handle all that super hero angst that movie makers are so fond of.
Supergirl – We know she can sing and dance, and she can defiantly rock a mini skirt, but I think that Glee star Dianna Agron has the talent and the innocence to give the cousin of Superman a big screen outing.
Aquaman – We know he can kick some ghost ass, but can he talk to fish? Jensen Ackles would be great as one of DC’s most underrated heroes.
Batgirl – It wold be interesting to see a more serious take on this character and I think the lovely and funny Amy Adams could do a great job.
Cyborg – Can you smell something? Oh, it must be what The Rock is cooking with his handy lasers as Cyborg!
I know that some of these have been cast in the past, either on TV or in movies, but I think they would all be good as the lead in a future big screen outing. Feel free to let me know if you think a different actor could do better!
But, with respect, you’re wrong.
