At the end of Sozin’s Comet, Avatar: the Last Airbender’s series finale, fans of of the hit show were left with a bunch of unanswered questions. Did Zuko find his mother? What happened to Azula? Did Sokka ever learn how to waterbend? Did he hook up with Suki? How did Aang find more air bisons?
These questions were further compounded with the release of the Legend of Korra. How did Toph teach metal bending to her students? How did Republic City come about? How did the post medieval world of Last Airbender turn into the Steampunk inspired one in Korra?
Thanks to a long standing partnership between Nickelodeon and Dark Horse Comics, Avatar fans have a reason to rejoice. With the three part Promise, the Legend of Aang gets one additional chapter and seeks to answer the important questions from the first series. Penned by Gene Luen Yang, an award winning author, the Promise is a delight to readers young and old.
Avatar fans responded to the series by making The Promise – Part 2 number one on both Bookscan and New York Time’s Best sellers lists last week.
The Promise Parts 1 and 2 are available now. Part 3 will be released September.
