Marvel to Unveil New Animated Shows at San Diego Comic-Con

At this year’s Comic-Con International, Marvel Animation will be pleased to unveil three upcoming projects. This is in addition to a never before seen episode of Ultimate Spider-man.

Its first project, Hulk and the Agents of SMASH looks interesting. It is the first Hulk centric cartoon in almost 2 decades. What little we know about the series comes from the teaser image. We know that Hulk is having a family outing this time around with his cousin She-Hulk, his blood-brother Rick Jones/A-Bomb, his father-in-law Red-Hulk, and his son Skaar. We can also guess the family issues will come up a few times in the series. This could be a family drama, but with super powers.

Their second project, Avenger’s Assemble, is one that I’m cautiously optimistic about. Sure it has many strikes against it, the biggest is fan ire because it caused the more beloved Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to be canceled, but I tend to reserve judgment until I’ve seen the first few episodes. Who knows, it might be good on its own terms.

The third potential announced series will astonish you. I think that it would mean an Astonishing X-Men cartoon series. Then again, sometimes they want to be clever and it might be a Ka’Zar or Deathlock centered show, as both characters were in Astonishing Tales at one point. I highly doubt the company will be that clever, however.

The Marvel Television Presents panel will be on Saturday July, 14th at 10:30 a.m. in room 6BCF. Please note that all audio and visual recording devices will be prohibited during the event.

Eliza Dushku is Giving She-Hulk a Voice Makeover

Eliza Dushku is bringing sexy back to She-Hulk. The ex-Buffy star (she played Faith in the WB series) will be voicing She-Hulk in the Disney XD new cartoon, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.

“The funny thing is if people were to actually visit these animation rooms and see the guys and the girls that are doing it, with the exception of Eliza, who’s a stunning beauty, the rest of us, we don’t look quite as good as the animation characters they draw for us. It’s really quite funny. You see these middle-aged guys having fun, playing these younger whippersnappers. It’s quite amusing to look around the room.”

Dushku is no stranger to voicing heroines. She voiced Catwoman in Frank Miller’s Batman:Year One animated film last year along with the digital short, DC Showcase: Catwoman, that accompanied the film on DVD.

Dushku’s new co-star, Adrian Padsar, spilled the news of Dushku’s involvement in the new animated series. Padsar admitted that even in a voice studio her beauty still shined through to her co-workers and the art.

It’s quite  amusing to look around the room,” Padsar attested.

Disney XD nor Marvel have confirmed casting news, but as long as Dushku is involved fanboys everywhere should expect a great, fresh, new series.

Feature – Comic Wallpaper Of The Day

A lot of bad stuff is going on in our world today.  If you pay attention to the news at all, there is a whole pile of bad stuff happening wherever you look.  No matter what city, state or nation, there are bad things happening all over.  It makes you wonder whether we’re going to make it as a species.  Murders, riots, natural disasters, war, famine, the list goes on and on.  There is however one bright spot that I, personally look forward to.  One specific day each week that there is a glimmer of hope and happiness and generally something positive to look forward to.  That day is Wednesday…and we all know what Wednesdays are…New Comics Day!!!
