Uncanny Avengers #1 to Launch With 12 Covers

Covers, covers, covers everywhere. Uncanny Avengers #1, the flagship book for Marvel NOW! Relaunch, will be released with 12 different covers.

Marvel seem to be taking a leaf from The Walking Dead #100 which had a similar amount of covers and is now the best selling comic of the century. Expect this to be big for Marvel and their market share.

Although this number is confirmed, all of the cover artists have not, nor has what they will have on them. We do know quite a bit already though.

First, we have the original John Cassaday cover, an Adi Granow cover and a Daniel Acuna cover. But that is where the artists fade off.

After that there are an Avengers cover, X-Men cover, a blank variant, a baby variant cover to fit in with A-Babies Vs X-Babies, a “Call me maybe” Deadpool cover, and finally, a few sketch covers to make up the numbers.

Few! That went on a little while. All these covers seem a little excessive but some fans will undoubtedly buy all of them, making Marvel some hefty money.

Do you think it is right that one book should have so many covers? How many will you buy? Are Marvel milking this a little?

Avengers Vs X-Men #0 Gets Bumped Up

Avengers Vs X-Men #0 sold out immediately across the country, with most comic shops not having enough books to fill demand. Due to this overwhelming demand, Marvel are bumping up the second printing to 18th April.

Avengers Vs X-Men #1 has been the most pre-ordered book since Civil War, so Marvel are making a conscious effort to ensure fans can get hold of each issue as soon as possible, and they wouldn’t want to miss out on any money either.

With the date being moved forward by a considerable amount, not only will Avengers Vs X-Men #0 hit the shops on the same date as issue two, but also just a week after the second printing of issue one.

The second printing of both issue zero and one, will come with brand new variant covers. The variant cover for #0 will be by Frank Cho and the cover for #1 will be by Jim Cheung.

“We couldn’t be happier with the landmark response to Avengers VS. X-Men,” said Marvel SVP of Sales, David Gabriel. “With the incredible demand from fans and retailers alike, we are taking measures to ensure that shops get their copies immediately.”

For fans who missed out on issue zero, this is great news as issue one is now only one week away. In fact, if you look hard enough on Ebay, you might just be able to grab yourself a copy now.
