We had an outbreak of the flu last week and it ravaged the Word of the Nerd offices. So in case you were thinking that things were a bit off, they were. But thanks to modern medicine most of us are back this week and once again playing catch up. A lot of our popular weekly features weren’t posted last week and we apologize for that. We did manage to get new episodes of DC Confidential and Agents of Marvel recorded and they will be coming your way very soon. In the meantime we will be working on bringing you our Cosplay of the Week coming up on Thursday. We’ve had such a great response from cosplayers who want to be featured on the site and it has quickly become one of our most popular features. So don’t forget if you or someone you know is into cosplay and want to be featured on Word of the Nerd, go to our submission page and fill out the info. You may even be asked to join Bryan the Nerd and Janel McClain on the Word of the Nerd Podcast.
Today’s wallpaper features the cast of Family Guy in their first parody of Star Wars. Even though it’s meant to poke fun at George Lucas’ vision, the three parody films are in truth a real fan’s homage. Although rife with one liners and absurd comedy, the animation and attention to detail is top notch and is visually more impressive than The Clone Wars. The overall storytelling rivals Lucas’ originals. If you are a fan of Star Wars and/or Family Guy and haven’t seen any of the wonderful recreations, you owe it to yourself to watch them. Our thanks to Wallpaper Abyss for providing today’s wallpaper.
