Hey, George R. R. Martin! Or any nerd who loves Game of Thrones and music. No, actually, I still want Martin’s attention. He’ll dig this!
Nerds have found countless ways to express their devotion, appreciation, and obsession with their favorite things, whether it’s Doctor Who, Firefly, Harry Potter…you know it, the list goes on for hours. From creations on Etsy to fan fiction and works of art, there are literally hundreds of ways to show our favorite shows/authors just why we love their work.
Game of Thrones does a terrific job of listing when something spectacular comes their way from fans (especially if you follow their Twitter account), but I think they missed one.
This guy, Jason Long, is a singer-songwriter from Southwest Virginia. He’s a guitarist and lead singer of The Dirt Road Travelers, but in his spare time he writes and plays plenty of songs on his own. This one, titled “The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors” is an homage to Season 2 of Game of Thrones, specifically dealing with Stannis and Melisandre.
