Clear your schedule, gamers. The Secret World is free to play this weekend.
In celebration of turning one month old, The Secret World, a modern day MMORPG, is running a free weekend event. You might want to download the game now, as well as create an account if you don’t already have one. Free access will be available from 5 p.m. EDT on Friday, August 3 until 3 a.m. EDT on Monday, August 7.
The Secret World features level and class free play, a wide variety of powers and weapons, and a rich story from Ragnar Tørnquist, the creator of The Longest Journey.
The game itself usually costs $49.99 USD and typically has a monthly subscription fee of $14.99. But these days MMORPG’s are adopting a free-to-play model, so I predict more free weekends in the future, followed by a “free to level 15/20″ scheme, as Star Wars: The Old Republic and World of Warcraft have already done.
