It seems a while since we have had a major mess up on Twitter, but thanks to Rick Remender, that came to a swift end today.
It seems from the Tweets that follow, it was a slip up by the writer of X-Force, concerning a Tweet about an upcoming storyline, with his editor getting quite angry.
Below is an image that Remender accidentally posted on Twitter rather than sending in a direct message. It shows the character Kid A as the possible new Apocalypse.
According to Bleeding Cool, the exchange went something like this:
RickRemender: E @nick_lowe_ Hey, emails are still bouncing. Did you get Phil’s killer new Apocalypse rough?
RickRemender: Dammit. Anyone know how to delete an image from yfrog?
charlescrapo: What image are you trying to delete?
chadventure: should I forget that I saw that then?
andrepaploo: you log into your Yfrog account (i think w/your twitter passwords), and delete it on the Yfrog website
ryanklindsay: Delete the tweet, too, mate.
psychoz69: camera took a picture of your genitals while it was in your pocket?
ytrjdsm: well…THAT’S a he’ll of a spoiler… :-/
nick_lowe (Rick’s editor at Marvel): Um, Rick, that wasn’t a DM. GET IT DOWN!

RickRemender: Well… that was a mistake.

RickRemender: No worries, it’s everywhere now.
Do you think this was a genuine mistake or PR stunt to gets fans going? Should they be sending suff like this over Twitter anyway? What’s wrong with email? What do you think of Kid A?
